We don’t want to vote – we want to live !

Wednesday 30 March 2011

All the versions of this article: [English] [français]

we should spend our time working to survive and enrich a boss. No? we have to pay rent to live, and enrich the owners.

this is constantly enforced by social workers, employment centers, CCTV cameras, the cops…and punished by the courts and prisons.

some of us live near a nuclear power plant, or one of the chemical refineries that continually plague our world, at least until the next “incident.â€

scientific progress, economic growth, sustainable development – it is indisputable that ideologies can continue to destroy the planet in good conscience (construction of the TGV Lyon-Turin, the new airport at Notre Dame des Landes, development and application of new technologies …)

nations, borders and paper to control people’s movement.

profit, success, and comfort for a few is built into the financial crash – for everyone else, extermination of the troublesome, domination and exploitation of the survivors

We do not want to let someone else decide what is good for ourselves or others – not in the family, nor at school, nor at work, nor in hospital, nor by voting.

Yet all this is forced upon us and shapes our lives, like it or not …

What choices have we made in our lives, about how to live together and in the world around us? What have we decided, ultimately, in all this?

The different parties, presidents, and elections will not change much in the bigger picture, but offer different ways to mimic participation.

Democracy gives the illusion that everyone has common interests, and uses the power of participation (public debates, elections, co-management systems) to seduce us into believing.

But in the capitalist system, one class exploits another, and our interests are in conflict – that’s why we want to fight – here and now – for ourselves!

With anger against those who use this system, and solidarity with those who refuse it!
