Italy – News from the AS2 unit of the prison of Ferrara

Anarchist comrades locked up in the prison of Ferrara let us know that an ‘Anti-terrorism Squad’ made of prison guards is being set up right in the Arginone prison.
The creation of yet another specialized squad of hangmen is part of a national pilot project, which is being set in Ferrara, where a few months ago a new unit for anarchist prisoners was ‘inaugurated’, the AS2.

It seems that the Prison Administration wants to further tighten its grip on the revolutionary comrades kidnapped by the state by establishing a new specialized squad with the obvious intent to better investigate their correspondence and relations with the comrades outside the prison walls.

As concerns ‘prison everyday life’ the guards’ level of paranoia remains high: even a simple move to hospital is run with a great number of screws armed with guns, whereas comrades are handcuffed until they get into the x-ray room.
There is no hall for sociality or equipped gym.
